What should I get as a pet a Chicken or Rabbit?

I would like it if it doesn't mind being picked up or stroked doesnt bite and the one thats more enjoyable for a 12 year old boy which would be me. We have a pretty big garden and it would be helpful if it wasnt massively expensive. So which on ecosts more and needs more care. What should I get as a pet a Chicken or Rabbit?
Think of one pro and one con for each. I will do:

Rabbit:

Pro: Friendly and really loving

Con: Find someone to look after it when you go on holiday

Chicken:

Pro: Fresh eggs

Con: Poo all over your garden

I have had contact with both. Rabbits are better as you can tame them and they can play in the house and interact with you. What should I get as a pet a Chicken or Rabbit?
I don't know about chickens but I know a rabbit is not suitable for a 12 year old. Most rabbits hate being picked up and stroked so you just have to be happy to watch them run around, although there are the exceptions. Rabbits can live up to 12 years so are a huge commitment. Just think what will you be doing in 12 years? Will you still have the time, money, love and space for this rabbit? Rabbits are expensive too, there because they need a huge cage/hutch, good food, toys and then there's vet bills.

I'd recommend a syrian hamster for you. They are don't mind being stroked and handled and aren't such a huge commitment as they live about 2-3 years.
Chickens probably cost more to set up as they need a big coop, also a lot of place will ban pet chickens cos apparently they attract rats (which they dont, no more than rabbits). You will need at least two chickens or rabbits as they are social. If I were you I would go for chickens...you can rescue a couple of hens for like 50p and get eggs, and over the long term chickens will be cheaper to keep as they can eat household scraps (although they should get a chicken food too). They are more interesting and different that bunnies, but thats just my opinion, rabbits make great pets too.
I think you should go for a dog because a well trained one would be a lot of fun! Don't go for cats because they are just plain lazy %26amp; boring.

Honestly I don't know why you'd get chicken. They would peck you before letting you touch it and you would find it pretty hard to keep up with a rabbit since you have a big garden!!

I'd personally prefer a Dog but from those options I'd definitely pick the RABBIT!! Nevertheless hope you enjoy your choice in the end.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Good Luck XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
a rabbit would suit youmore they are lovely and their cagesdo need to be cleaned out but they re loveable chickens won't be loveable andifyou go nearit it'll run awaysobuy a rabbit or if you can a guinea-pig they're soo cute and just as big as a rabbit and youlook after em' the same way so out of those two rabbit (they cost about 12 quid) well they do at my local pet store lol and guineapigs are about the same. though you need to buy a hutch for a rabbit which can be quite expensive although with guinea pigs they can have an indor little play centre for a bout 30 pounds. i suggest you govisit your pet store with your mum/dad andtalk to someone who works there they'll have all the answers you need.in the meantime look it on google..and remeber don't buy a chicken!
A rabbit is way better, they can get more tame, you can do more stuff with them. A rabbit wont cost much more than a chicken either.
rabbit but i would suggest a Guinea pig because since he is 12 years old and they bite less than bunnies and you just need a cage insted of a hutch
Get the rabbit!

Usually rabbits dont bite and are great pets!

A chicken wouldn't be a very good pet as they prefer to be together in large groups!
