My 2 year old male rabbit was neutered a few days ago, and i have just bought an 8 week old female rabbit. Shes going to go in a seperate cage from my male rabbit until there allowed together. How many weeks do i have to wait until i can introduce them to each other?When can my rabbit have a friend after neutering?
Hi there.
Being an experienced breeder, I recommend you wait at least two weeks for the area that was operated on, to heal and sort itself out.
Though, I do suggest that you get the new female spayed, too. Otherwise she will be mating the male non-stop and he will get stressed out.

6 weeks is a safe period after the operation.
It is also a good idea to have the doe spayed when she is internally mature enough to have a first litter. This is usually around 6 months for an average size rabbit.
this will prevent territorial aggression from the doe and dominant mounting from both sexes
You will also normally need to get the female done too. Otherwise she will harass him non stop for sex, female rabbits get very very broody.
when my cats got spayed and neutered we kept them separet for about a week
but u dont have to wait more than 2 weeks

Can my pet rabbit have mollasses and oatmeal?
I made treats for my horse with water, oatmeal and molasses can my pet rabbit have this without getting sick?Can my pet rabbit have mollasses and oatmeal?
The oats are fine as a treat but the molasses will give your rabbit diarrhea.
The other poster was wrong about rabbits eating grains. I have beed breeding rabbits for 16 years, my rabbits get a supplement that has oats, sunflower seeds and flax seeds. The rabbits love it and it gives them a rich shiny coat.
Rabbits cannot digest sugars, so molasses and fruits (they contain fructose which is a sugar) are not good for them. Too many rabbit rescuse groups call for rabbits to have fruits and vegetables which does nothing but upset the digestive tract of the rabbit. If you don't have your rabbit spayed/neutered (as applicable) the behavior will only get worse. Especially if the rabbit is already exhibiting dominant sexual behavior, expect the next development to be urine spraying and/or viciously biting.
Spaying is the best answer. It stops most unwanted behaviors and even makes litter training easier. However, don't be surprised if she keeps hopping around your feet- she may do that because she's happy to see you or just wants your attention. My bun used to like to run figure 8's around my legs.

Why does my rabbit have green fur under her feet?

As long as he's eating and drinking and pooping, well, I wouldn't worry about the fur color. It's normal for the fur on the bottom of the feet to be darker and coarser than the fur on the rest of the body.

I personally use dog harnesses. I've found that the ones specifically designed for rabbits that have mesh on them irritate my rabbits, plus it seems harder to get my rabbits into them. As for the getting out thing, if the harness is properly adjusted and isn't too small, and you don't tug on the lead you attach, escaping won't happen. As a rule: you should be able to fit two fingers between the rabbit's body and any straps on the harness that go around the rabbits neck and chest.
Once a rabbit is done wrong, it may hold a lifetime grudge.
I have been a rabbit breeder for almost 10 yrs and if you need a good quality harness i would go to a local pet store, or a local ARBA show where they sell supplies for that particular kind of rabbit. To find out where the ARBA shows are google it, an it should come up in schedule form. they are all over the US so you should be set. In Kearney,NE they sell the good harnesses in pet kingdom, but idk where you live so ya. if you have more Qs then you may email e if you would like. Im always happy to help people out with their bunnies!
