Can you put shredded paper, hay and waste rabbit food into a compost bin?

we have a pet rabbit which we put in shredded paper and hay/straw but it seems such a waste just to chuck in in the bin. obviously the waste also has rabbit droppings in it as well.

will this waste be of benefit to a compost bin.Can you put shredded paper, hay and waste rabbit food into a compost bin?
Yea, you sure can. You can put it all in.

Here is a helpful article all about composting. Most importantly it tells you what not to add to your compost.

';Rabbit Manure: Rabbit manure is even higher in nitrogen than some poultry manures and it also contains a large amount of phosphorus--important for flower and fruit formation.';

ink on the paper may be a problem when adding compost later to sensitive plants.
if ya wanna, probably-- as long as you have the rest the

good stuff and it isn't overpowered by paper
Yes it will make good compost.
Of course you can, especially shredded paper as it was once a plant itself.
I suggest you avoid glossy colored paper (ad inserts). Regular newsprint is OK
One of the best accelerators is...wait for it - human pee!!

Many jokes abound as to ';can you aim it straight in?'; or ';are you able to reach that high?'; LOL, but seriously it is most beneficial to the compost heap/bin...

(Saves going indoors when gardening - as long as you are not overlooked!!!)
yes you can and you'll love the results !
Because rabbits are vegetarian and paper is recyclable there should be no reason not to compost the hutch contents it should break down after about twelve weeks with any other compost you put in the bin hay/straw will break down anyway just make sure you layer with other compostable materials
Yes but not all in one lump. Put it in layers with other stuff, e.g. household food waste, peelings, grass cuttings, etc. similarly never put grass cuttings in all in one lump, put them in layers with other stuff.
Yes you can, along with grass cuttings, veg peelings, egg shells, tea bags/leaves, garden waste (old bedding plants) not too many weeds though, and don't forget the worms!
sure. and just to speed up the decomposition, add a can of beer.
yes, it should be fine. You can also put tumble dryer fluff in as well!!

Our local council have a leaflet about composting .....perhaps try yours?
yes it will speed up the rotting down process and rabbit dung makes very good compost
Yes you can use this, but any sawdust from the feeding area will take quite a long time to break down but it is OK to use.
I often wondered about newspaper print because of the ink. As it turns out . . . most inks are soy based. Don't forget to turn your compost often. That is critical to good compost.
