How should you skin, gut and thoroughly cook rabbit?

so my father and i watched the episode of man vs. wild, and we were just wondering how you should skin, gut, and cook a rabbit. we aren't going to be just doing it for fun, we love animals, but i mean we were just curious as to how we should do it if it ever came up, i mean i'd imagine it's not really like gutting a fish right? we just want to know if we need to, we can be prepared to do the right things.How should you skin, gut and thoroughly cook rabbit?
Usually gourmet butchers have rabbit etc for sale.


Ask their advice, even better get them to do it for you.


';Jugged'; is a popular way to cook a prepared rabbit.

It's not very hard. Most normally hit them in the back of the head behind the ears to stun them. The the rabbit's neck is usually broken by either a quick snapping hand movement or by placing the rabbit's head in between the person's shoes and pulling up on the back legs until the neck is dislocated.





The rabbit then is usually hung from the back feet by two nails on a board that spread the back legs open. Their is an opening between two of the bones in the back legs just above the rabbit's hock or back foot that is best to hang the rabbit from. Then the rabbit's head is normally cut off. Skinning normally starts working from the feet down to the head. The skin is either cut away by pulling it tight and cutting gently betwen the pelt and meet or by pulling it off after enough of the skin has been cut away. Sometimes the rabbit is wetted down before skinning to keep stray hairs from getting on the meat. Then the rabbit is opened up and gutted after being skinned. After being skinned and gutted, the back feet can be cut off and the skinned rabbit placed under cool running water to clean it off of hairs and to wash the blood off. If wanted, it can be cut up into pieces then.
KILLING THE RABBIT IS EASY GRAB IT BY THE BUTT AND HEAD DOWN, MOVE IT'S EARS TO THE FRONT AND WACK IT IN THE BACK OF THE NECK WITH A HAMMER OR HEAVY OBJECT SO IT IS INSTANT,


CUT THE TROAT OR THE WHOLE HEAD OFF AND HOLD IT DOWNWARD TILL IT STOPS BLEEDING, CUTT OFF ITS FEET AND SIMPLY PULL HIS SKIN OFF, IT TAKES 2 PEOPLE TO DO THIS BEST, BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO GET THE HAIR ON THE MEAT.


ONCE YOU SKIN IT SIMPLY GUTT IT LIKE THE FISH. BEIGN CAREFUL NOT TO CUT THE SMALL SACK STUCK TO THE LIVER.


THEN YOU ARE READY TO COOK HIM IN ANY WAY YOU WANT.


I'M SORRY IT SOUNDS VERY HARD BUT IT IS THE MOS HUMANE WAY TO DO IT IF YOU HAVE TO EAT RABBIT.
