What happens if you put human shampoo on a rabbit to wash it?

because i did that and i was just wondering if that's bad for the rabbit? What happens if you put human shampoo on a rabbit to wash it?
It depends on the shampoo, but most store brands are totally safe for pets and children alike. Some bottles will say on them, not for use on animals, that would be something to look for. The only thing - be sure to rinse and dry your rabbit thoroughly, if you don't it can cause mold and bacteria to grow on the rabbit's skin, which could lead to a whole lot of problems. You can also consider blow-drying your rabbit if they will let you. What happens if you put human shampoo on a rabbit to wash it?
Don't do that!! Even if it was safe you'd need to douse the rabbit in water to wash it out, which is a very bad idea. Sometimes they'll be okay, but they can go into shock, or the water can cool before they dry and make them sick. Also rabbits are self-cleaning and if she tries to groom herself she may be ingesting left over traces of the shampoo, which is toxic. Normally you don't need to wash a rabbit.
Uh-oh... It is very bad to give your bunny a bath. My Vet and I don't recommend it. They clean themselves and water will send them into shock or they can catch a cold. If it is a must to clean your bunny, my pet store sells this spray that sticks to the dirt, which you just comb off. Human shampoo is also very strong and filled with artificial flavors and smells, which always leaves a residue. And when they lick themselves will be toxic. Im sure one time will be okay, but please don't make a habit of it. Bunny will appreciate it :D
Rabbits have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. Human shampoo can cause skin irritations and rashes. Please don't try it on your rabbit, it's best not to risk it. Use special rabbit shampoo, you can get it from any good pet shop. I use a brand called 'bunny bubble bath' but there is lots of other products out there. If you can't get rabbit or small animal shampoo it is ok to use Johnson's baby shampoo which you can buy at the super market. Good luck!
it is VERY! it happens for every animal they get rashes and loose fur. it happened to my cat and the vet had to shave it. you need animals shampoo or baby jhonsons
i had a rabbit, never gave it a bath. They clean them self,my live to be ten. They might catch cold.Call your Vet just to make sure about the shampoo.
It probably depends on what kind of shampoo but if you use something mild, especially baby shampoo...it's fine to use on animals. The rabbit just gets clean. I didn't know rabbits needed baths...
Why are you stressing out your rabbit by washing it? Rabbits clean themselves.
nothing it will be fine. i do it when i run out of animal shampoo
