Always take the doe (female) to the buck's (male) cage. Place her in the cage and stay there the whole time. Watch to see the buck mount the doe and then fall off. This means they have mated. Remove her from the cage and repeat in hour. Then repeat in 8 hours.Do not leave them alone because the doe can get aggravated with the buck and attack him. Some does have been known to bite off the buck's testicles or penis.


After that she is bred and will kindle (give birth) in about 31 days. Make sure you have a nest box ready for her. She will need it on day 28 of the pregnancy. Put wood shavings in the bottom and fill with hay. She will pull fur and make a nest in the box to kindle.

When breeding you place her in his cage, not the other way round or she'll fight for her territory. He should start mating with her then.
