Is it true that if a rabbit breathes on a babies face the baby becomes blind?

I have heard this from an Indian couple and wondered if there was any truth in it. I have never heard of this before and we used to keep loads of rabbits when I was young. Is it true that if a rabbit breathes on a babies face the baby becomes blind?
Itsa folk tale possibly originating from a zoonose...that is a disease that can be passed from rabbit to human. Tapeworms could cause blindness in a baby, but that is passed on in faeces (not sure if that includes rabbit faeces), most commonly dog faeces. Basically, I think its a good idea to keep animals of all sorts away from babies...animals DO have germs that babies can get...for example, guinea pigs can carry salmonella. Although this is rare, there are other health issues like the animal scratching, biting or otherwise, or welfare issues like the child unintentionally hurting the animal. Is it true that if a rabbit breathes on a babies face the baby becomes blind?
hhahahaahaaa ...... i cant stop laughing ... hahahhahaahhahaaa .... i am Indian live in India never heard it hahhahahha cant stop laughing dont blame it on India hahhahaha cant stop laughing hhahahhahaha
Of course, every body knows that. But if you feed the baby lots or carrots, that rabbit breath will have given them incredible night vision. Tis only daylight blindness you see.
This is just an ';old wives' tale';. In any case, why would a rabbit be breathing into a baby's face? Does it live in the cot?
eh, no.

Thicko.
no it's an old wives tale, but if anything really breathes in a baby's eyes it's bad so...................
No. I should doubt very much that there is any truth in this.
Of course it's not true, and cats don't steal babies breath either.
