A rabbits diet should consist of unlimited timothy hay(NOT ALFALFA), A fresh bowl of good quality pellets (not the ones with different colored chunks in it) daily , Fresh water daily, and once or twice a week, they should get a treat of non gassy fruit or veg. broccoli, cabbage, apples, lettuce are not good choices. No. All rabbits need hay. Especially alfalfa hay,its the best for them and it would really ruin their digestive systerm if they don't get hay.

Hay would be a better choice for a bunny to eat instead of straw, because it's more nutritious. If the bunny is weaned, then it's old enough to eat solid foods.
Straw has no nutrition in it for your rabbit. A better choice is a good grass hay. But not alfalfa, it is too high in protein for rabbits especially young ones.
Straw can be given if a rabbit is suffering from a bout of diarrhea, but only for a short time until the condition improves.
You can give rabbits hay from the time they can start nibbling on solid foods. I make sure the kits in my litters have access to hay at all times.
